J. Harris is a former elementary school teacher, former antique dealer, former restraurant
owner, and now - potter.
After selling his last restraurant, and before starting his next one, he took one week
personal time for a pottery workshop. He hasn't been out of the studio since. That was
13 years ago....
Most of J's classes have been in summer workshops, where he has benefited from
exposure to many nationally recognized artists, their techniques, and various ways of
working. They have been quite supportive. He has been able to apply what he learned at
these workshops in the studio during the academic years.
J. lives in the small community of College Corner, Indiana and currently instructs at Rowan
Hall Art Center, Miami University, Oxford, Ohio.
